Population Trends.  The Village continues to see an increase in its population even though the “Big Building Boom” of the early 1990’s was thought to be over.  As you will read later in the report, the Village has seen an increase in new home permits since 2002, with 2004 following in its footsteps.  With all this new residential growth, the Village will conduct a Special Partial Census in the summer of 2004 and anticipates the count will conclude an estimated additional 800 new residents; bringing its population to an estimated 4,700 people.

                                                  Census History

1970 348
1980 571
1990 1,066
1993 Special Census 1,800
1996 Special Census 3,115
2000 3,880
2004 4,978

As for the projected population growth for the Village, an estimated 270 residents will be moving into the Village annually.  This figure was determined by taking a three (3) year average on the number of occupancy permits issued by the Village’s Building Department.  With this many residents moving in, the Village will most likely conduct another census count in the later part of 2007 to show its population increasing well beyond 5,700 residents.

                           Projected Population Growth

2005 5,250
2006 5,520
2007 5,790
2008 6,060
2009 6,330
2010 6,600
