Nomination papers will be available in the Clerk’s Office for circulation for the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election. Sample form nomination papers may be picked up during regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. M-Tu-Th-F(closed Wednesdays)) at the Village of Spring Grove Municipal Centre in the Office of the Village Clerk, 7401 Meyer Road, Spring Grove, Illinois 60081 or you can request it be emailed to you by contacting the Village Clerk at kpopelka@springgrovevillage.com.

The Spring Grove 4th of July Committee is thrilled to once again bring the residents of Spring Grove, along with their friends and families, another year of live music, a hometown parade, spectacular fireworks, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Independence Day celebration draws thousands of visitors to our parks and downtown on July 3 and 4. While our dedicated volunteers and partners work hard to ensure the festivities run as smoothly as possible, increased traffic, temporary road closures, and ongoing summer road construction may cause some delays.

We encourage everyone to plan their travel in advance, allow extra time to reach their destination, and expect heavier-than-normal traffic throughout the celebration. We will continue to provide timely updates and important event information here to help make your Independence Day experience safe, enjoyable, and memorable.

Parking Map [PDF, 201.12 KB] – On July 3rd, parking is free in Thelen Park and Spring Grove Park, VIP parking is in Horse Fair Park and is $20 per vehicle. Entry into the concert event is $5 per person.

On July 4th parking in Spring Grove park, Horse Fair park and Thelen Park is $10 per vehicle, your parking pass from the morning of July 4th is good for the evening of July 4th in all parks.

The Village of Spring Grove is pleased to announce several upcoming infrastructure improvements designed to enhance our local roadways and pedestrian safety this summer:

Pine Meadows Subdivision Resurfacing

Work has begun and will last approximately two months (through June weather permitting). The following streets will be included; Hidden Trail North and South, Nora Ave, Pater Ct, Hidden Trail Ct, Pine Crest Ct, Marie Dr, Maureen Dr, Amanda Dr, Elk Dr, and Elk Ct.

Update 8/19/2026: The contractor will be evaluating seeded areas through the fall.

Blivin Street Improvement Project

In partnership with McHenry County DOT, this multi-phase project will include resurfacing, sidewalk improvements, and lighting upgrades:

• Phase 1 (2026): Begins aprox May 26th (weather permitting) and will include Blivin Street from Main Street to the railroad tracks
• Phase 2 (2027): Planned for the following year, this phase will include Blivin Street from Main Street to the Fire Department, as well as Main Street from Blivin Street to Lorraine St

Update 8/7/2026: majority of the curb and gutter is poured and wall pours continue.

Winn Road and East Solon Road Improvements

Additional resurfacing and infrastructure maintenance is scheduled for Winn Road and East Solon Road with an expected start date in early July. A planned road closure with detour is scheduled for July 6th through 10th while a box culvert is being replaced on East Solon Road.

Update 8/26/2026: Final lift is complete and striping will be completed weather permitting.

Traffic Impacts

Subdivision roads and Blivin Street are not expected to fully close but will be reduced to one lane during construction. Additionally, street parking will be affected during these projects. Please allow extra travel time and use caution in work zones.

Refuse Pickup

Flood Brothers has been notified of these projects and will be collecting refuse and recycling on your scheduled pickup day PRIOR to the construction crews arriving, please make sure your cans are out before 6am on your scheduled day in the affected areas.
